Hi, I’m Jen

Bio
Jen Kuhn has been flameworking glass for 13 years. She started out making glass beads and jewelry and then expanded to sculptural work when hired by the Corning Museum of Glass. In 2022 she invested in a mobile flame shop so can continue to demonstrate and teach the public about glassmaking out in the world.

Jen looks to create beautiful objects which are enjoyable and accessible to the everyday person. She takes inspiration from the the natural world and the animals she has worked with. In addition to many pets, she has managed a small farm, sheared sheep and alpacas, trained competition sports dogs, and been a wildlife rehabber working with many species of birds as well as raccoons, foxes and skunks. She also is an avid bird watcher, and has recently started fly tying and fishing. Her production work embodies the character of the animal if not precisely the anatomy, and they tend to be rather adorable for some reason.

She has recently expanded her work into multimedia artwork. She is currently exploring 3-dimensional nature journals and shadow boxes and is incorporating print, fiber and natural materials into her work. She continues to make glass beads and jewelry as well.

Jen has been married for 31 years (to the same person!) and has two grown kids who are out in the world being brilliant. She has a very derpy cattle dog and three weird cats among others.
